The Youth Education Service is a recruitment business which provides work-finding services to its clients and job seekers. The Company must process personal data (including special category or ‘sensitive’ personal data) so that it can provide these services. In doing so, the Company acts as a data controller.

You may give your personal details to the Company directly, such as on an application or registration form, CV, or via our website, or we may collect them from another source, such as a jobs board.     • Compliance with the Education (Health Standards) (England) Regulations 2003 to determine your suitability for working in regulated activities involving children

    • Compliance with the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006

Additionally, our clients may require this personal data, and we may need this information to enter into a contract with you.

Failure to provide the necessary personal data will prevent us from offering work-finding services to you.

We may share data with clients, former employers for references, payroll providers, umbrella companies (If you have opted to be paid via umbrella), IT service/system providers, background checking agencies government agencies to perform necessary checks and pension providers.

2.Marketing

Marketing communications may include promotions, commercial messages, and industry-related information. Users have the option to opt out of specific communications.

3.What Data do we collect and how?

We collect various personal data, including:

  • contact details including name, address, email, telephone number

  • identification documents including NI number, proof of ID, proof of address and DBS certificate

  • Work information including CVs and references

  • Details of qualifications and employment history including references

  • Online search

  • Sensitive personal information including health information

Your personal data is sourced through our registration process, contact form on our website, former employers and third-party sources such as job boards and LinkedIn.

You are not required to provide your personal data to the Company. However, if you choose not to supply specific information, we will be unable to offer our work-finding services to you.

4.How long do we keep your data?

The Company will retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to achieve the purposes for which it was collected. Various laws may also mandate retaining data for specific durations. For instance, the Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003 require us to keep work-seeker records for a minimum of one year from:

  • Date of their creation

  • After the date on which we last provide you work finding services

The Company is also required to maintain records of your payroll, holiday pay, sick pay, and pensions auto-enrolment. These records are retained for the durations specified by HMRC and related national minimum wage, social security, and tax regulations.

Where we have your consent to process your personal and sensitive data, we will follow our Data Protection Policy. If you do not provide this consent, we will cease processing your data.
